ever since i can remember my mom has tried to play match maker with me and others also.recently she told me about a guy she works with ,she says hes a good looking nice guy and that she told him about me.she asked him for his email and then she gave it to me and told me i should email him.for some reason i didnt feel i should so i havent used it and its been a week but whenever i speak to my mom she keeps hassling me about it. i dont know why she s so set on me emailing this guy but its kinda getting on my nerves.do you guys think i should just email him ?? and if i did what would i even say being that we,re strangers ? any opinion on this appreciated thanks!

My opinion - no don't email him. If your mom is so desperate to have the two of you meet, let her take both of you to lunch, coffee or a drink after which you can decide for yourself what happens next.

When I'm ready to date, I will be sure to seek your advice on future prospects, but right now, I'm (a) happy to be single or (b) going to be looking for a date on my own." Let her know that you appreciate what she's doing but you don't feel like it's an approach that is going to work for you.
I would be uncomfortable e-mailing a perfect stranger. If there's a way the two of you could meet face-to-face like if you meet your mom at her job for lunch, then she can introduce you or at a company picnic, but in your position right now, I don't think I'd be able to e-mail the person.

Reply:I don't think the user ID name can be changed. You can have an alternate user name and email contact address, and that can be changed. Go to options, mail options, general preferences, and change it there at the top of the page. Also, you can choose which alternate name and contact information to use and display in your yahoo 360 messenger. Go to your 360 messenger page and click settings. From there you choose your preference, then remember to click save, or save and continue.

Suddenly yesterday, I no longer receive email sent from my yahoo account to my yahoo account. I am receiving email sent from others and even email sent to another non Yahoo account but forwarded to my yahoo account. anyone know why this would happen? I often send email to myself as reminders.

Lately, Yahoo Email has been causing my Internet Explorer to freeze and lockup??
This problem started about 2 months ago. I never had any trouble with it like this before. It only happens when I go to check my Yahoo Email. I use other yahoo services and they do not freeze up my PC. All other webpages that I visit do not freeze it up either.
This is how it happens... I pull up the Yahoo page as my home page.... Then it alerts me that I have new email. I click on the email link from the front page. I click on the Inbox link to read my mail. Occassionally, I can read them with no freezing. But 7 times out of 10, it freezes when I click on Inbox. I wait and see if it will work... but it just totally freezes up. I usually then have to hit Ctr, Alt, Del, and end the operation. Sometimes, I can just pull up IE again and start over. Sometimes, I have to reboot my PC all together because it is totally locked up. This only happens when I go into yahoo mail.... Can anybody tell me WHY? What should I do to fix it?

Yes Yahoo had some mail issues but it was a problem with the JAVA for one and for outdated Internet explorer for the other because the updated their computer and missed a download update somewhere. The quickest way to try to solve your issues is to uninstall the yahoo toolbar from your computer and just reinstall it. This should fix any glitch you have. If that doesn't work then also update your Java. You would likely have troubles clicking on buttons in webpages if Java was the 1st issue. If those don't work you can jump onto Microsoft's website for troubleshooters as well. It takes time but they seem to always work. Hope this helps.

If you'd won a lottery they would not need all the information they're asking for, seems like it could be an identity theft scam to me. I'd report it to Yahoo! well, if I knew how. I certainly wouldn't fall for it.

AVG 8.0, paide version, Email Scanninq Question - Can U help?
ok - i have AVG paid 8.0, and it has email scanner, i have it set to check incoming and outgoing email, and it says it is - ok thats good, but it says that some servers may have certification to make the note at the bottom of each incoming and outgoing email that it has been scanned.
Does anyone know if Yahoo facilitates this ? I know Yahoo scans incoming and outgoing email, thats great, I would just like the fact that i run the additional AVG scan noted at the bottom of every email i put out, it just adds added security for my clients, who I correspond with.

AVG 8.0, paide version, Email Scanninq Question - Can U help?
I use the paid AVG 8.0 version. My opinion is that it works better than Norton or McAfee, in that it doesn't jam up your system like the aforementioned. Yahoo is a free service, and even though Yahoo has some email scanning, it doesn't do it all. Some servers have certifications, which require regular updating. If it isn't updated, you will get a notice and usually you have the option to continue or not continue. Having certification doesn't mean anything except to the server. But if you are not sure, contact Yahoo and ask them directly.
Reply:Most of time you dont need a virus scanner to check your email. Because most virus scan every files. So I think you just waste your money on a service which it is free but does say it in their deal. Plus there are some other program can program the virus scanner and to scan it without paying for it.

Does anyone know if Yahoo facilitates this ? I know Yahoo scans incoming and outgoing email, thats great, I would just like the fact that i run the additional AVG scan noted at the bottom of every email i put out, it just adds added security for my clients, who I correspond with.

I use the paid AVG 8.0 version. My opinion is that it works better than Norton or McAfee, in that it doesn't jam up your system like the aforementioned. Yahoo is a free service, and even though Yahoo has some email scanning, it doesn't do it all. Some servers have certifications, which require regular updating. If it isn't updated, you will get a notice and usually you have the option to continue or not continue. Having certification doesn't mean anything except to the server. But if you are not sure, contact Yahoo and ask them directly.
Reply:Most of time you dont need a virus scanner to check your email. Because most virus scan every files. So I think you just waste your money on a service which it is free but does say it in their deal. Plus there are some other program can program the virus scanner and to scan it without paying for it.

I got an email in spam folder from yahoo.co.uk, want to know if its genuine?
I got an email from support@yahoo.co.uk saying my account has been suspended for security reasons and to fill in the attached form. The mail was delivered to my spam folder, I looked at the full header which usually gives the origin of an email away with a completely weird email address but it just says support@yahoo.co.uk.
I can still access email but haven't had anything in my inbox since around the time I got this one, on Friday, which could be normal but I don't know.
Any thoughts on if its genuine or fake?

How can i add/include another email acct to my yahoo email, that will enable me to switch between the 2 email?
In my yahoo mail webpage, theres an arrow beside my user name found on the upper left portion of the page, when you point on the arrow, it prompts you to switch between 2 email addresses. i do not know how the other non-yahoo email was placed there but its very convenient. Now i want to add another email address to the existing 2 email accounts, please help show me how. Thanks

I made up a myspace email and it ended up belonging to someone!?
About a year ago i made a myspace and because i didnt have my own email, my friends said i should just make one up. Big mistake, but i did it. I unknowingly used a real email address, and the person who it belonged to verified my account for me. I didn't know this until a few days ago when someone told me that email addresses had to be verified in order for your account to work, and mine does.
Now, i dont feel safe knowing that a stranger has had all of my personal information to get into myspace, being able to read my myspace messages and such for an entire year. I want to change my email, but the person on the other end has to agree to it first and click the okay. Everytime i've tried this, the person never does it.
I tried sending an email to the address i used, but i got a message back saying the message was a failure and didnt go through / error type thing.
What can i do?? Someone please help!!!

Can someone help me with the set up of my email access? I am trying to access my email at work, and my IT department says they don't support my phone, meaning that it can be set up on our system, but they can't tell me how to do it... Can anyone tell me how I can find out my incoming and outgoing email server names? Where can I look in my computer to find this info?

today makes a week me and my gf have been together. we usually email some throughout the week. i was the one to email last which was around tuesday or wednesday. i havnt seen or talken to her since friday. should i email her or not. i dont want to come off as smothering or spamming her inbox. we have 5 pages worth of emails already over the course of a few weeks. this probably sounds stupid, but i was just wandering. we usually go through periods of a lot of emails, but she is always the one to quit the chain of emails. so im thinking i should not, but just wanted another opinion.
Should i email or not?

Suddenly yesterday, I no longer receive email sent from my yahoo account to my yahoo account. I am receiving email sent from others and even email sent to another non Yahoo account but forwarded to my yahoo account. anyone know why this would happen? I often send email to myself as reminders.

Reply:Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. I have been advised to use this site to view my mail, www.mail2web.com if all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?s... click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.

Need help with the confirmation email for sony ericsson?
On sonyericsson.com I registered for my w580i phone so I can get free themes and such. It says that they will send a confirmation email to my email address. I haven't received it since yesterday. And it also said when i registered, if an email wasn't sent in at least 1 hour then I would have to contact them. I sent an email complaining but then tried 2 other emails. Still no email.
Please help and tell me if you have been in this situation.

The email says that Yahoo is cleaning out their system and getting rid of all unused accounts. It says that if you don't respond, your email account will be deleted if you don't respond in 2 weeks.
I just thought it was funny because they spelled some of the words wrong..."mesage" and "terriitory"...lol.
I almost replied back to it to make fun of them for their horrible attempt at phishing, but I didn't because everyone says not to reply to those emails and to delete them.
