I have a yahoo mail account and I often get spam emails in the bulk folder which I delete. Today when I checked it I noticed I had gotten a spam email - from my own email address? In the "from" field it was my email sent to my email as well. How is this possible? You can't have two exact emails and the only other option is that someone has access to my email?
It was the typical spam email.
Anyone has an explanation to this?
Spam from my own email address?
The person who sends the email specifies the From address. It is as easy to forge as the return address on the back of an envelope.
Reply:I too experienced the same thing on yesterday. Weird isn't it? Not sure what the answer is to this one. Please let me know when you find out.
