Aol free email, i forgot my password?

when i click the forgot password button it says enter your email address so i do so and click submit, then it says an email has been sent to you to change your password! how can i read the email if i cant remember my password to check my email in the first place

When you enter your email address please enter an alternate email id you entered while registering and click next. You can restore your password from another e-mail account.
Reply:I have AOL, I had that problem when my husband died. We didn't know his password. We had to set up a new account because we couldn't get into the old one. I even sent them a copy of his death certificate.


My daughter forgot hers, but all we had to do was give them some basic info; however we did have to use the phone to finally make them understand.
Reply:If you have there phone number call them and give them your info and they help you.
