Any email service which confirms that a person have read the email.?

My work email provides me with this option that when somebody reads it I get a reverse email back. With my personal email, I sometimes send important messages to my relatives. Sometimes they dont even recieve it. I was wondering if there is any free email program which offers this feature.

Any email service which confirms that a person have read the email.?
People can disable the auto-reply "feature" of some email clients, so you cannot rely on that.

One thing that works is to embed a refernece to your website in the email with a unique name - the name need not even exist (example:

%26lt;img src="http://x1234.mysite.com/apicture.jp...

When your email is opened, it tries to get the image from the site, and that appears in your site error logs. BTW, this does require you have a website.

Alternately, If you can do php (or asp), you can write a scipt to intercept the page request and have your site email you confirmation.

A bit complex for casual use, but more reliable than auto-reply.
